What to Expect

Patients receiving dialysis treatment can expect regular sessions to remove waste products and excess fluids from their blood. Hemodialysis sessions typically last 3 to 5 hours, occurring 3 times a week, with potential side effects like low blood pressure and cramps. Patients on dialysis must follow dietary restrictions, control fluid intake, and may need to adjust their lifestyle to accommodate treatment. The experience can vary among individuals, so close communication with your healthcare providers is essential to address individual needs and concerns.
